Our boots are handmade in India. True to our ethos and similar to the Kenyan project, we are making a positive impact on marginalised communities through preserving traditional craftsmanship, creating jobs and offering sustainable incomes.
Through the era of fast and throwaway fashion, we have been working towards quality and sustainability. Products that are made to last, that get better with age. The use of leather is integral to this. Genuine leather is one of the most naturally sustainable materials as it is both organic and durable. All our hides are from cattle raised for the meat industry. By using a by-product, we are adhering to our mission to avoid waste. The alternative would be landfill for the skins.
Our leather is supplied by a tannery accredited by The Leather Working Group, a not-for-profit organization responsible for the worlds leading environmental certification for the leather manufacturing industry. We use Australian sheep-wool controlled by the farming regulations in Australia. Our signature ‘wrapped’ soles are made using natural crepe rubber from Sri-Lanka. Packaging is minimal and made from recycled paper.
